As expected , CPI The Communist Party of India - Marxist today expelled Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee from the party as he went against his party interest.
CPI asked Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee to resign from the post of Loksabha speaker before Trust vote. But The Indian Asembly Speaker shree Somnath Chatterjee wanted to continue as Loksabha Speaker.
Yesterday UPA Government Led by Dr. Manmohan Singh won the Trust vote with Cross voting from BJP MPs and TDP Mps as well as Shivsena MPs.
Legally , Somnath Chatterjee can not be removed from the post of Loksabha Speaker even though he is expelled from CPI , His Political Party.
