"Are you CAT 2007 for IIM MBA" ? My Friend asked me.
No. I said.
It seems everyone in this universe wants to do MBA. They just get motivated by reading about Big salary & placements of MBA students from IIM. But man Do u know there are more than 1.5 lakh people who wants to get into IIM ? they are rankers in school , college , & other exams.
IIT students do give CAT for IIMs. IAS aspirants also give CAT. & Many other people. One good friend of mine who is Doctor , is also interested in Doing MBA but only from IIM.
Doing MBA from IIM should be ur goal because Dhirubhai has said think big. But in today's world there is nothing like monopoly . so dont think that Only IIms are there. CAT is about Luck now. U might have prepared very much. You might be expert in Quant , VA & DI-DS. You might have given lots of Mock tests conducted by Indian CAT coaching Institutes like TIME , IMS , CAreer launcher , Career Forum , & many others. You might have scored high percentiles in Mock cats. But that does not mean that u will do Good in real CAT. Mock test are only for practice. I advice you to take Mock test regularly but dont get disappointed if you get low percentiles & dont get very happy if u get high Percentiles in Mock Cats.
What you do on D-Day is important.
Coming to the topic......
Dont think of IIMS only . There are lots of good Indian Business Schools other than IIM. IIMs are best MBA institutes but they are not the only one. So if you get low percentiles in cat then
try for other good Indian business schools. All the Best for CAT preparations.
