The final of Idea Star Singer 2008 was held on 25th April, 2009, where Vivekanand and Sonia were declared the best male and female singer respectively. They both the winners bagged a brand new flat from Confident Group worth Rs. 1 crore each. The first runner-up was Rahul R Laxman and he was presented with 101 tholas of gold from Josco Jewelery . The fourth prize worth Rs. 2 Lac went to Gayathri. The consolation prizes went to Jins Gopinath and Prasobh. Ranjini Haridas and Vani Jayaram (Contestant of ISS 2007) anchored the Grand finale, held at Chandrashekaran Nair Stadium, Trivandrum. The special chief guest for Idea Star Singer 2008 final was the legendary Music Director MS Viswanathan.
